The Institute has served an international student body since 1934. CIE’s principal mission is educating individuals in technical skills through distance education, without regard to race, sex, handicap, creed, national origin, or age.

CIE prepares its students to become the skilled technicians and engineering technologists who will solve electronic engineering and computer technology problems. In order to accomplish these goals, the college offers two associate degrees and various diplomas and certificates in electronics and computer technology.

The CIE faculty, staff, and administration are committed to students who can substitute and/or enhance the traditional college classroom with independent study education. This method of instruction allows the individual student to obtain an education while maintaining family commitments and present employment or business activities.

Some of the unique students CIE serves include those in the military, those being rehabilitated, and those in areas of the world where the access to classroom education involves an inordinate amount of travel. CIE seeks to raise the level of productivity of our students, enhance their employment opportunities, and retrain those whose skills have become obsolete.

allow students all over the world to pursue a certificate or degree program in a natural health discipline.

People from all walks of life, from health and fitness professionals to stay-at-home parents, have discovered this convenient and revolutionary way to attend an established natural health school. If you have

ever dreamed of starting a career as a natural health consultant, this is your opportunity to make that dream come true by attending a respected holistic health school. Explore your future in natural health, and alternative health careers by reading Clayton College’s informative articles

Competitive Advantage

What is Distance Learning at its Best!

Dynamic. Cost-effective. Flexible. Engaging. Synergistic. Clayton College programs are student-centered, incorporating diverse teachings that give adult learners greater control and responsibility to:

Create their own learning environment.

Study at their own pace.

Self-manage their personal, professional, and educational goals.

Interact with experts and network with peers.

With state-of-the-art WebCT©, Clayton College offers innovative e-learning options that are second to none. As always, the school’s original distance learning methods remain available to all CCNH students. With or without a computer, CCNH programs are accessible, interactive, and affordable.

Why They Say You Should Enroll

Will I have help from the college?

At Clayton College each student is assigned a faculty advisor whose role is to facilitate the student’s learning process. This is accomplished by:

providing support and assistance in learning the materials that they receive;

helping ensure timely completion of the course or program;

responding quickly to student inquiries; and

being available by phone, fax or e-mail five days a week during normal business hours.

In distance education the objective is to learn from materials provided, looking to the advisor as a coach, not an information delivery system. No tutor or advisor can assure that any student will learn the material; only the student can make this happen.

How can I get to know other students?

As in any educational endeavor, networking with others is a critical part of the learning process.

The Holistic Connection is the college’s social hub. Here is where the bulletin boards are located and where weekly chats with faculty are conducted. Students and graduates also use the chat rooms for their own meetings, as the chat rooms are available 24/7.

Clayton College often attends health shows and conferences, providing students and others with opportunities for personal interaction with us. These events are particularly exciting as we get to visit with our students and graduates.

Visit the Reference Map and check your state or country. Many CCNH students and graduates volunteer to have their e-mail addresses posted as e-mail contacts and look forward to receiving mail from prospective students, as well as enrolled and graduated students.

How do You get started?

A student handbook offers the student step by step instructions and information about the student experience at Clayton College. Students obtain their books and coursework from our education partner, ED MAP, whose customer service commitment is excellent.

Who are the faculty at Clayton College?

Among the faculty at Clayton College you will find a master herbalist, massage therapists, professional counselor, doctors of naturopathy, chiropractor, energy workers, and a physician, to name a few. Our commitment to Natural Health runs deep through the heart and soul of our organization and we share our students’ common desire to live healthier lives. We celebrate your successes and our role as facilitators of your accomplishments. Our alumni surveys confirm that Clayton College truly is helping to make the world a healthier place.

When will You graduate?

Completion of a CCNH program is dependent on the unique learning strategy and schedule for each student. There is a five year maximum time limit for completion of each degree program and two year maximum time limit for certificate programs.

Graduation requires completion of your program’s academic requirements and fulfillment of all financial obligations.

Many of our graduates have personal graduation ceremonies, complete with cap and gown.

Some order class rings.

Families hold parties and place announcements in local publications

California University of Pennsylvania, a comprehensive regional institution of higher education and a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, is a diverse caring and scholarly learning community dedicated to excellence in the liberal arts, science and technology, and professional studies that is devoted to building character and careers, broadly defined.

Message from the President:

The mission of California University of Pennsylvania is to build the character and careers of our students. And while building careers may be expected of universities, building character may seem less so. But the rationale for building character, as well as careers, is best seen in these words by Theodore Roosevelt: “To educate a person in mind but not in morals is to educate a menace to society.”

Since 1852, eager students have seized the opportunity to develop their character and careers here and, in so doing, have improved their lives and the lives of those around them. To advance its ultimate mission of building the character and careers of students, the University relies upon committed faculty, motivated students, challenging programs, and exceptional facilities. We invite you to meet our faculty and students, to evaluate our academic programs, and to tour our facilities.

Because learning at California University is not restricted to one’s academic major, the university experience here is a broad one, involving many co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities. Students can select from a number of academic minors and concentrations; from an array of student activities, ranging from athletics to honor societies; from Greek organizations to service learning; and from scores of student clubs and organizations.

Cal U is a student-centered university that is committed above all to academic excellence and intellectual rigor in the context of personal and institutional integrity, civility, and responsibility. We provide a welcoming, family atmosphere. We are large enough to offer a variety of programs, yet small enough to know many students by name.

Please excuse our dust as we continue to grow at Cal U. The new Duda Hall and adjoining Booker Towers have been completed and provide a beautiful new gateway to our campus. Renovations to our historic buildings continue, including magnificent renovations to Noss, Vulcan, and Steele Halls.

In fall 2006 we opened two more residence halls on the main campus, bringing to five the total number of new student housing facilities. A sixth on-campus residence hall opened in fall 2007. The very successful off-campus residence halls complex, Vulcan Village, is located adjacent to Roadman Park on the upper campus and offers students the option of garden-style apartment living. These new residences reflect our commitment to students and their families. All residence halls include amenities quite popular with students — air conditioning, private or semi-private baths, Internet connections, and sprinkler and security systems.

We are a University on the move, and I welcome you to visit us.

Boston University is one of the leading private research and teaching institutions in the world today, with two primary campuses in the heart of Boston and programs around the world.

Celebrating our legacy

Boston University was chartered in 1869 by Lee Claflin, Jacob Sleeper, and Isaac Rich, three successful Methodist businessmen whose abolitionist ideals led them to envision and create a university that was inclusive—that opened its doors to the world—and engaged in service to and collaboration with the city of Boston.

From the day of its opening, Boston University has admitted students of both sexes and every race and religion. It is with pride that we count Martin Luther King, Jr. among our alumni. What makes us prouder still is the fact that when he received his doctorate from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 1955, Dr. King was taking his place in a long line of individuals that stretches back to the University’s founding. Other notable alumni include the first woman to earn a Ph.D., the first woman admitted to the bar in Massachusetts, the first Native American to graduate with a doctorate in medicine, and the first African-American psychiatrist in the United States.

In the heart of the city, in the service of the city

The University’s founders were also ahead of their time in engaging Boston University in direct service to the community long before such service was fashionable. The third president of the University, Lemuel Murlin, described a university “in the heart of the city, in the service of the city.” As we have evolved and diversified that notion of service has expanded to include the world. The magnitude of the University’s engagement—which spans public education, health care, and the arts—is unparalleled in American higher education.

Forging our future

More than any other institution in our society, the modern university exists to serve the future. Boston University does this by educating individuals for fulfilling, productive lives and by creating solutions to pressing or anticipated problems through research. As a major research university, Boston University is both a repository for accumulated knowledge and experience and a testing ground for critically examining received wisdom, where groundbreaking research is conducted in a wide variety of fields and across disciplines. Taught by inspired, committed, and creative faculty, our programs combine the enduring value of a liberal arts education with the skills and experience offered by professional schools, to ensure that our students are engaged, adaptable, and equipped for successful careers and fulfilling lives.
